About LAF-Off

LAF-Off (Lawyers Are Funny) has two goals in mind: to make you laugh, and to benefit the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program. The last three LAF-Off events sold out to capacity crowds at the House of Blues. LAF-Off will feature esteemed members of the local San Diego legal community... and Dan Stanford, our Master of Ceremonies. This year's LAF-Off will take place on March 25, 2010, and each contestant will perform a stand-up comedy routine using their talents and skill to woo the crowd and judges. The judges will then, with the influence of the crowd, decide the winner of the 2010 LAF-Off competition.

For more than 25 years, the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program has been helping change the lives of thousands of disadvantaged women, children, and men in San Diego County. SDVLP works to defend the rights of children, assist victims of domestic violence, and provide legal assistance to those living with HIV and AIDS.

SDVLP continues its mission through its dedicated staff and hundreds of attorney and non-attorney volunteers. But the 501(c)(3) organization relies on grants, funds from foundations, and fundraisers to continue providing legal services to those who need it most.
